As a Payroll Analyst in Gaithersburg, MD you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. Enabling strives to deliver our key growth priorities, the role of our business functions teams, including Human Resources, Finance, Global Compliance, Legal and Corporate Affairs, becomes crucially important.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Perform activities related to payroll processing for our US population. Serve as a payroll subject matter expert across HR and ensure operational excellence in payroll and time management systems and processes. This role will be part of the US Payroll Team and is responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant payroll taxation for approximately 14,000 employees in multiple legal entities in all 50 states and Puerto Rico in six different payroll frequencies.
Translate business payroll requests into mass upload templates of payroll input, submit them to the payroll vendor for processing, ensure prompt processing, and validate accurate processing via auditing procedures.
Ensure payroll vendor receives all garnishment orders in a timely manner, reconcile garnishments sent against vendor reports.
Perform over payment recovery process and apply appropriate federal and state regulations as required to ensure compliance.
Perform appropriate audit controls to ensure payroll is processed accurately.
Convert payment requests to mass upload templates, submit to payroll vendor for processing, and review pay simulations to ensure processing is accurate.
Respond to payroll ticket escalations.
Research and resolve employee pay issues.
Support special projects as directed. Conduct ad hoc analyses as applicable. Provide support for critical HR initiatives as needed.
High school education.
Extensive payroll experience.
Strong tech savvy, and the ability to learn technical subjects quickly.
Familiarity with cloud computing and internet research.
Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritizing skills.
Ability to think conceptually as well as a high attention to detail.
Self-motivated and able to work in an independent fashion as well as a team environment. Desirable Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience with Workday Payroll preferred.
CPP or FPC preferred.
