OBGYN Ambulatory Director
Generalist Obstetrics & Gynecology
The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology (OBGYN) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA, seeks an Ambulatory Director who will lead the clinical, administrative, educational, and quality goals for the hospital-based multidisciplinary OBGYN ambulatory practice as well as have a faculty academic ob/gyn practice. The faculty member will hold a Harvard Medical School position of Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor, commensurate with qualifications.
Duties and Responsibilities: In partnership with the Chair of the Department of OBGYN, Ambulatory Nurse Manager, and OBGYN Chief Administrative Officer, the Ambulatory Director will:
-Develop and lead a comprehensive strategy and plan for a high-quality ambulatory clinical program for an academic OBGYN multidisciplinary practice that includes general obstetrics and gynecology, as well as the subspecialties of maternal-fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, family planning, female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, minimally invasive gynecology, and reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
-Develop and foster a patient-centered approach to care that optimizes the patient experience while allowing staff to work at the top of their abilities
-Create new ways of delivering ambulatory care that maximize health outcomes by enhancing access to high quality ambulatory care.
-Integrate the OBGYN ambulatory practice into the larger mission and system of care of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical center.
- Manage the clinical operations of the obstetrics and gynecology ambulatory practice, with a particular focus on quality, safety, and team-based systems of care.
-Be responsible for development and maintenance of policies, protocols and guidelines for ambulatory care that meet the goals of the department, the hospital and external reporting groups
-Be responsible for development of process improvement projects to meet quality goals, together with the Vice Chair for Quality.
- Recruit, retain, and develop the OBGYN Ambulatory practice's faculty and staff.
- Participate in the Faculty Generalist Obstetrics and Gynecology practice in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
- Participate in the direct supervision and training of faculty, fellows, residents, and medical students.
MD plus board certification in general OB/Gyn. Minimum of two years' experience in an administrative position required. Demonstrated leadership skills necessary to complement and expand clinical and quality programs.
