Our focus in the Center for Applied Molecular Medicine is the discovery of protein biomarkers that are indicative of a patient’s likely response to existing therapies. The benefits of a technology to “personalize” medical treatment by accurately predicting outcomes are hard to overestimate in terms of improved outcomes and reduced costs in bringing drugs to market and delivering effective care.
At CAMM, we are looking for talented biological researchers who are capable of working with a team to develop and to apply innovative technologies for genomic sequencing, target discovery, and validation.
The qualified candidate will be fully competent and proficient in the operation of sophisticated scientific equipment, detail oriented, and able to independently perform complex procedures and techniques with accuracy. These activities may include complex experiments involving molecular biology and the use of genetic sequencing technology. Examples of specific activities include: DNA extraction and purification from tissue, library preparation, quality control, sequencing, and data curation. The candidate will also be responsible for general lab support functions and training/supervising other research laboratory personnel as assigned. Applicants must have prior experience operating NextGen sequencing equipment.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a biological field) and a minimum 3 years of practical experience in a research laboratory in the required activities. Academic or industry experience and previous work in genetics and sequencing techniques are essential. Excellent verbal and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment are required. Applicants must have prior experience operating NextGen sequencing equipment.
