Job Description

Functions as a scientific/medical managed market resource to the Oncology Business Unit. The NASD is responsible for developing and maintaining access to managed care customers in order to facilitate patient access, medical policy and scientific/medical interface. The NASD will lead, develop & execute medical account plans for assigned customers as well as communicate comprehensive scientific, health economic, epidemiology, quality of life data and real world effectiveness information. The NASD, under the guidance of the National Director, will ensure the appropriate strategies and tactics are developed/implemented and customized to meet the needs of a dynamic customer base. The NASD will tailor scientific product information that meets the needs of national/local customers in support of national medical strategies. The NASD will also work closely with home office teams to interpret medical and payer value across our novartis oncology, hematology and rare disease portfolio. The NASD will offer a sense of urgency and customer service in a timely, ethical and focused manner. Accounts may include National, Regional, Specialty Pharmacy, PBMs, Integrated Delivery Networks, Medicaid, VA/DOD and HIX.

Minimum requirements  Advanced Degree Ph.d, MD, Pharm D, RPh required. Oncology experience strongly preferred. An additional degree in health economics, health outcomes, health policy or public health a plus. Field based medical experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred. Thorough knowledge of clinical medicine, managed care, pharmacoeconomics, disease management, and medical research. Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills, (including ability to network), strong personal integrity, teamwork abilities and a customer focus are necessary. Must possess a thorough understanding of the FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and GCP/ICH guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry. Must be able to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment. Strong working knowledge of the organization of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access). Ability to interface effectively with a variety of technical platforms for the collection, review, and dissemination of medical information. Demonstrated record of scientific/medical publication. Demonstrated knowledge of GCP practices and standards. Demonstrated technical and scientific expertise in Oncology is strongly preferred. The position is associated with approximately 65% travel.

Position will be filled at level commensurate with experience.
