Pfizer, a global leader in the biopharmaceutical industry, is continuously seeking top talent who are inspired by our purpose to innovate to bring therapies to patients that significantly improve their lives.

Role Description

We are seeking a highly motivated research scientist to join an exciting systems-immunology group dedicated to studying immunological diseases on a molecular level. You will be involved in applying and developing cutting edge molecular and cellular analysis approaches (including single-cell RNAseq) to the study of inflammatory disease processes and the molecular pharmacology of treatment response. This position requires someone with a strong background in lab based molecular biology combined with the capability to perform bioinformatic analyses and the ability to successfully interface with dedicated computational groups for advanced analysis of high dimensional molecular datasets.

Responsibilities

* Design and execute laboratory experiments aimed at genomics-level process/platform development, robustness, and operationalization for broader use across the inflammation and Immunology portfolio.

* Drive primary and secondary data analysis efforts alone and/or in collaboration with other group members and computational scientists.

* Present findings to research teams and external collaborators, and modify approaches for improved systems level insights into inflammatory disease drivers and mechanisms for pharmacological intervention

* Provide training and guidance to other staff as needed

Requirements

Qualifications

* PhD or MS in molecular biology, cell biology, immunology (preferred) or related field

* 0-5 years of experience for PhD, 3-10 years of experience for MS

* Experience with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) approaches, data analysis, and a good understanding of single-cell RNAseq technologies

* Ability to both design and execute on experimental strategies

* Knowledge of appropriate statistical needs in experimental planning

* Good understanding of and experience in the application of bioinformatic analysis approaches for high dimensional datasets including both processing and downstream interpretation and visualization

* Experience in inflammatory biology and models of inflammation a plus

* Excellent verbal communication skills and experience with group presentations. Ability to react to changes in project designs and to efficiently multitask
