Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The position would be involved with several specific projects, including, but not limited to:

Nucleic Acid Isolation

•   Assist in the DNA/RNA isolation of multiple sample types including cell lines, FFPE tissues, cfDNA and others

•   Support with the design, development, and sourcing of supplies required for the nucleic acid isolation of the samples

Analytical identification and analysis of rare mutations

•   Utilize various instrumentation and techniques including but not limited to quantitative PCR (qPCR), droplet digital PCR (ddPCR), and next generation sequencing (NGS) for analysis of the samples

•   Statistical analysis of large data sets

•   Support the data collection, organization, and presentation of results.

Database Support and Maintenance

•   Support Clinical Trial Assay Development efforts by cataloging identified rare mutations

•   Must currently be pursuing a degree

•   Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)

•   Basic understanding of molecular biology and techniques

•   Demonstrate good communication skills, both written and verbal

•   Be able to prioritize and juggle multiple projects

•   Energy and passion for the work and desire to make a positive contribution

•   Wet Lab experience including nucleic acid isolation and PCR methodologies highly desired

•   Experience planning experiments and analyzing results a plus

•   Keeping and maintaining a lab notebook desired

Training available:

Internship Training will consist of wet lab techniques, instrumentation, safety, and introduction to Clinical Trial Assay Development and Testing
