Under general supervision, responsible for the management and direction of regional sales programs and activities, and work delegation of the assigned staff in the Division. Manges District Sales group by planning and directing the personnel, work activities and strategies required to meet business objectives.

  • Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures and state, federal and local laws.

  • Develops and implements marketing strategies and regional tactics; maximizes sales and contribution to Company profits.

  • Manages District sales team in all aspects of their job including recruiting, hiring, training, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining staff, addressing complaints, and resolving problems; initiates and recommends plans to train and motivate staff to achieve work goals.

  • Provides support, direction, and coaching to department employees in the areas of disciplinary action, problem resolution, planning and assigning work.

  • Develops and maintains procedures to enhance effectiveness; develops incentive and motivation programs to maximize productivity and promote positive attitudes; recommends salary and bonus plan distribution for region.

  • Monitors and analyzes the performance records of personnel; reviews data and distributes reports with relevant analysis, trend evaluations and recommendations.

  • Monitors and manages district budgets and sales forecasts; analyzes and monitors budgets to assure the department operates within agreed parameters; develops cost benefit analyses and forecasts financial impact of decision; creates sales and market reports; assures accuracy of data reporting.

  • Assures project deadlines and performance standards are established and met; assures the satisfaction of internal and external customers.

  • Participates in sales and marketing forecasting meetings; develops strategic plans for District; establishes goals and strategies; monitors and assesses progress; identifies issues and develops solutions.

  • Monitors and reviews medical news and pharmaceutical industry information sources for business intelligence of strategic value to the Company; remains current with information on competitive products that could impact Watson products.

  • Ensures compliance with Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field from accredited college or university, and five (5) years sales and marketing experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in pharmaceutical industry.
