Job Duties:

Under general supervision of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), perform independently a wide variety of waived and moderate complexity tests in a section of the Dept. Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Other responsibilities include method development-modification-parallel testing, collaboration on or independent preparation of abstracts or manuscripts, repair of laboratory instruments, sample processing, reagent preparation, data entry and phlebotomy duties. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed. On a daily basis, assess overall workload for any area that needs help and help coworkers without being reassigned by the supervisor. Primary duty would be to oversee the front end, automated processor.

Requirements


Job Qualifications:

Must have a Medical Laboratory Technician License valid for the state of California. Experience in a hospital or laboratory environment as a lab assistant or technician. Medical terminology and hospital background preferred. Office skills include computer, telephone communication, data entry, billing and patient reception. Ability to perform in emergency situations at odd hours; has a high level of accuracy and realizes the importance and responsibilities of the laboratory role in the hospital field. Possess good problem solving skills. Ability to be flexible in performing duties and in work schedules.
