Description

The Senior Manager Medical Information reports to the Head of the Medical Information Oncology team within the Scientific Affairs organization and is responsible for communicating product information to internal and external customers; performing intake of adverse event and product complaint reports related to Amgen Oncology products.  Strong verbal and written communication skills are required along with the ability to work in a matrix environment, across multiple teams.  Proven scientific literature analysis and evaluation skills; organizational and project management skills, technical writing skills; computer literacy; and the ability to manage a large number of complex projects simultaneously are required to deliver results in line with key responsibilities.  This position offers an opportunity to work in a matrix environment on global cross-functional teams that are focused on supporting Amgen's innovative scientific programs. Key responsibilities include:- Responding to unsolicited requests for medical information regarding Amgen Oncology products- Authoring medical information letters and clinical FAQs to be used by Medical Information professionals, Medical Liaisons and/or Contact Center representatives to respond to unsolicited requests for information- Conducting formal review of response documents and quality monitoring of Contact Center staff- Interfacing with cross-functional teams to identify strategies and executing tactics that support Amgen Oncology products - Developing literature surveillance outputs to ensure timely communication of key data across Amgen- Developing and/or participating in training programs, including Contact Center staff- Supporting Amgen at major scientific meetings- Analyzing, forecasting and communicating Medical Information inquiry trends and strategically planning deliverables to meet forecasts- Budgeting and allocating resources to meet business needsPreferred Qualifications-A professional degree of PharmD, PhD, or MD with 5 or more years of biotech/pharmaceutical and/or clinical experience -Demonstrated ability to apply strategic and innovative thinking; provide clear direction through effective communication; manage large number of projects simultaneously; make timely business decisions and work cross-functionally in a dynamic matrix environment.
-Prior experience in Medical Information / Drug Information or other Scientific Exchange roles; knowledge and understanding of clinical and therapeutic issues relevant to Oncology.
