General Responsibilities

Responsibility for the development and delivery of the AZ CVMD Global Medical education programme.

  • Work with the Head of External Scientific Affairs - Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases, the Medical Affairs Leads and the GMA Lead team to develop peer-to-peer medical education meeting that enables high-level discussion on the management of diabetes in line with AZ strategy and incorporating new data pertaining to AstraZeneca’s portfolio of products where relevant.
  • Ensure that the programme is delivered in line with AZ compliance guidelines.
  • Manage Medical Education and Production agencies and the Global Conference Team to support delivery.
  • Manage the resources and budgets allocated for Medical Education activities.
  • Liaison with Regional and Country Medical teams to generate support for the programmes that Global develop and deliver.
  • Liaison with Congress organisers to secure optimal presence for AZ CVMD team at congress
  • Identification and briefing of faculty in line with AZ policies on FMV and meeting guidance.
  • Develop networks with other Medical Education Leads and with Global Commercial Excellence to improve/share best practice.
  • Specific projects to include.
  • Global Diabetes Expert Forum.
  • Satellite symposia at key congress to include EASD, IDF, ESC and other congress as agreed by the CVMD lead team.

Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong team leadership and communication skills, with demonstrated experience of working with KEE at the highest level.
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of independent judgement and initiative.
  • Highly advanced organisational skills and ability to co-ordinate and prioritise complex projects.
  • Enthusiastic, resolute and flexible approach to work.
  • Able to motivate and encourage others in support functions to deliver to the best of their ability.
