Job Description

Timely handling of the increasing volume and complexity of contract-related work is unsustainable and has already placed a drag on deal execution and could constrain growth where contracts are involved.

This person would report to Jenny Smyth, the Contract Administration Manager.

As KSEA's contract groups are consolidated it is envisioned that this position would not be incremental but rather net zero headcount after the consolidation.

Contracts Specialist Job Summary
. With contracts becoming larger and more complex, expert commercial management practices play a prominent and important role in leading and facilitating KSEA's sales and business ops
. The Contracts Specialist uses standardized processes and tools to blend contract compliance with commercial know-how and practicality and focus on contract compliance and risk mitigation, protecting KSEA and enhancing commercial objectives
. This position will support the Contract Administration Manager to create, negotiate and incorporate contract amendments, renegotiating the contract, if required, to accommodate scope changes or changes in business goals
. This position is accountable for ensuring effective implementation of new and renewing contracts through communication and coordination with other functional areas

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
. Performs all aspects of contracting including the review and analysis of proposals, contract negotiations, and preparation of contract revisions
. Negotiates contract and proposal terms and conditions, and administers commercial and government contracts in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
. Identifies contract management issues and proposes solution for resolving them
. Meets corporate contracting goals including timing, terms, conditions and related criteria
. Ensures effective implementation of new and renewing contracts through communication and coordination with other functional areas
. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; performs a variety of tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude


. Bachelor's degree required
. Paralegal experience a plus
. Minimum three years of experience working in a contracting or related area, preferably in a healthcare sales setting

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
. Specialized subject matter expertise including advanced knowledge of the principles of contracting
. Familiar with commercial concepts, practices, and procedures including a working knowledge of the commercial operations of a sales and marketing organization
. Team-oriented individual with the ability to handle multiple diverse responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
. Must be able to interact with management and senior level managers at provider organizations
. Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills are required
. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
