JOB SUMMARY
Depomed’s Medical Affairs Summer internship provides a time and access to the people in a hands on approach to delve deeply into many areas a scientist entering a pharma/biotech company would gain exposure from. The medical affairs function serves to bridge the gap from late stage drug development to commercialization of a drug through its full lifecycle on the market. We work on cross-functional teams on a daily basis including Clinical Affairs, Marketing, Sales, Managed markets, and even with external HCPs and customers. You would be working with us to effect change.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
•Support the development and updating of standard response letter documents as they pertain to medical information letters and FAQs including linking and annotating reference to the their supported statement.
•Fact check promotional materials against specific references as provided.
•Provide support in review/editing company manuscripts for both marketed and development agents.
•Support the creation of scientific and medical content for product level training internally and externally.
•Provide support in coordinating medical initiatives or projects.
•Able to lead or co-lead projects in MA and potential cross-functional initiatives
•Potentially many other areas to aid the Medical Affairs, PV, clinical and R&D organization as a whole depending on experience and needs.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
•Aid in support and coordination of the Investigator Initiated Research program and Medical Education Grant Program and related processes
•Work with cross-functional partners, i.e. Clinical Affairs, Marketing Managed Markets.
•Depending on duration of assignment, may be assigned to various departments on a rotating basis.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•PharmD/PhD/MD or advanced healthcare degree or in last 2 years of completion or current fellowship.
•Research Experience preferred but not required

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•Self-motivated, adaptable to a dynamic environment
•Must be a hard worker with a strong sense of attention to detail and be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
•Excellent organization and planning skills
•Scientific & Medical terminology acumen
•Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills (both written and oral)
•Able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members
•Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, database management
