As a Market Access Training Director in Gaithersburg, MD you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. They represent many of the most well recognized and respected products in the industry, and build strong relationships with healthcare professionals.
AstraZeneca’s vision in Oncology is to help patients by redefining the cancer-treatment paradigm, with the aim of bringing six new cancer medicines to patients between 2013 and 2020. A broad pipeline of next-generation medicines is focused principally on four disease areas - breast, ovarian, lung and hematological cancers. As well as other tumor types, these are being targeted through four key platforms - immunotherapy, the genetic drivers of cancer and resistance, DNA damage repair, and antibody drug conjugates, underpinned by personalized healthcare and biomarker technologies.
The Market Access Training Director is responsible for partnering with internal and external stakeholders to develop relevant, high-quality blended learning programs for the AZ managed markets account managers, reimbursement managers and the field sales organization.
This individual will lead the skill and competency needs assessment to provide robust, impactful training that is aligned with the leaders’ objectives and strategies. This will include identifying, designing, delivering, and evaluating learning opportunities. As a key member of the Oncology training team, the Market Access Director will also liaise with other functional areas including brand and sales leadership and colleagues as well as medical and regulatory affairs. This role will include some travel for field rides, national/regional sales meetings, relevant scientific conferences and other training events.
The Market Access Training Director will lead the design, development and implementation of a robust managed access training strategy and curricula that aligns with core competencies. Develop curricula from onboarding through advanced programs. Using a blended learning approach, educate the company on managed markets environment. Collaborate with brands to support managed markets account manager training for all product launches. Collaborate with key cross-functional partners to ensure the training strategy and plan are aligned with the business goals, objectives and strategies. Conduct on going needs analysis and leverage insights to inform the training strategies and curricula as needed. Prepare and/or oversee training products and programs. Manage a budget designated for managed markets training, and continuously assess ROI. Ensure all curricula are properly maintained and approved per AZ policies and guidelines. Business travel, by air or car, is required for regular internal and external business meetings.
- In-depth knowledge of the managed markets customers and the evolving landscape.
- BA/BS degree (MBA/MS/MA preferred)
- 3-5 years field sales or field reimbursement management experience, or equivalent
- Experience facilitating and/or training
- Managed markets experience
- Knowledge of adult learning principles
- Account management experience
- An ability to effectively collaborate with and align key stakeholders
