JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager/Sr. Manager, Sales Incentive Compensation (IC) is responsible for managing the day to day execution of Depomed, Inc. field sales incentive compensation and reward programs. This position will work with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver strategic and innovative compensation policies and programs. These may include sales contests, SPIFFS, formal compensation programs, Create Great, MBO’s, etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Manage all day to day support of incentive compensation for the field sales team
• Manage the tactical implementation, and administration of the field sales incentive compensation plan and related contests for the Sales Forces.
• Assess IC plan, sales/call plan and contest effectiveness to ensure plan objectives are met. Evaluate and recommend improvements to optimize effectiveness.
• Deliver and construct reports for sales contests; analyze and provide executive summary and work closely with the Marketing Effectiveness team to evaluate impact and value of program/contest.
• Provide guidance, training and direction to Sales Operations as it pertains to IC.
• Audit IC plans rules reflected in the IC payout calculations.
• Respond to escalated field inquiries on IC calculations, IC rules and contest calculations.
• Monitor both internal and vendor compliance to IC reporting schedules.
• Investigate new and innovative methodologies for engaging and motivating the field force members through incentive programs.
• Develop training materials for new hire training and new IC programs.
• Maintain key Sales Performance Indicators (KPI’s)

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILTIES/DUTIES:
• Creates and delivers periodic training and sales force communications to foster a greater understanding of the IC plans. Provide ad hoc analyses as necessary to support senior management and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5+ years related analytical experience required preferably in Sales Compensation analysis, or related experience.

SKILLS and ABILITIES:
• Requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to analyze and QC data from multiple sources and communicate findings in a clear and organized manner
• Experienced at analyzing opportunities, issues, leveraging data and strong analytical prowess to deliver practical, effective solutions.
• High level resourcefulness and problem solving skills under pressure are critical to this role
• Must have strong project management skills and attention to detail
• Must have a strong working knowledge of relevant software systems (e.g., Access, SAS, SQL, Excel, salesforce.com, MS Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Must have an understanding of databases, tables, joins, relationships
• Must be knowledgeable of business intelligence systems, their application within the biopharmaceutical industry, and how various systems communicate with one another
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
