JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager of Sales Specialist Development-Gralise, Cambia & Lazanda in Commercial Learning & Development will lead all projects and initiatives designed to onboard and train new and tenured sales specialists by ensuring the development and implementation of relevant training programs. This person will assume the lead role for Gralise, Cambia and Lazanda products and skills training for new and tenured sales specialists. Responsibilities include managing a complete multi phased learning pathway from new hire home study phase to segment workshops and POA platforms for the pain franchise. The Manager will also co-own the new hire training process as far as updating content and facilitating the classroom venue with special focus on the pain team. Additionally this person will support the self-development programing of the advanced training segment program. In this role, the Manager will partner with relevant internal departments, including sales management, field sales, national accounts, marketing, district trainers, sales operations, medical affairs, and legal.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The successful candidate will:
•Promote collaboration, partnerships, and relationships among the participants in a design project.
•Analyze the training needs of specialists to develop customized training needs.
•Analyze the characteristics of existing and emerging technologies.
•Apply instructional design principles to Learning and Development projects.
•Utilize technology to enhance the Training and Development function and processes.
•Use sales performance metrics and analysis to improve training and development design.
•Plan and promote organizational change.
•Monitor and maintain alignment with Commercial group’s strategic training plan while balancing short-term and long-term business goals.
•Lead all launch training initiatives for specialists training needs.
•Assist in the interview process for future trainers and CL&D staff.
•Update new hire training content as needed and facilitate the new hire classroom venue.
•Build and deliver segment training workshops as an advancing sales skills platform.
•Manage the budget for specialists training initiatives.
•Oversee vendor selection and management of specialist projects.
•Contribute to SOP development for CL&D in concert with the Senior Director.

Requirements

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
BS/BA degree with a concentration in Science, Education, Business or Marketing is required.
Minimum of 3 years relevant Sales experience is required in the biotech or pharmaceuticals fields.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant Training experience in biotech or pharmaceutical fields is preferred but not required. MS or MBA degree is desirable.

An effective Manager in CL&D identifies the business process and actions where the work unit needs to excel in order to achieve its goals. As the Manager for Specialist Development, you have to identify the capabilities of the organization needs and the gaps that exist as well as what capabilities will be needed in the future. The skills range from clinical, product, compliance, work rules, sales force automation, selling skills knowledge, project management, and skills to be an effective leader of a team of trainers. They must have the ability to focus on performance by establishing clear objectives for the programs and projects. Must possess strong project management skills, interpersonal communication skills, facilitation skills; problem solving, decision making and analytical skills as well as design, and development of curricula and content. The successful candidate will be passionate, creative and innovative with ability to generate fresh ideas and new ways of doing things.
