PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION


·         Provides Technical Management of Fluidics and Electrical Engineering groups of 10-15 engineers


·         Generates new product development plans, including scope, staff, budget and timeline


·         Guides engineers in executing to plan and meeting project deliverables


·         Works with peers in other functions (R&D, Operations, Marketing, Service, Clinical) in matrix organization to coordinate inter-dependent development activities


·         Develops and maintains collaboration with Development and OEM partners


·         Manages department budgets of approximately $3-$5M


·         Manages personnel, including hiring, reviews, skills development

Requirements

 


EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS


·         B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering. M.S. or Ph.D. desirable.


·         5 to 10 years instrument development industry experience in the area of Medical Device/ Biotechnology


·         3 to 5 years experience as an Engineering Manager


·         Strong experience developing Fluidics products


·         Understanding of Electronic systems


·         Familiarity with systems integration (fluidics, electronics, mechanical, software)


·         Familiar with regulated product development (FDA, ISO13485)


·         Track record of successfully taking products from Concept to Market


·         Excellent leadership skills and ability to work with others in a team environment


·         Brings in high energy and enthusiasm to the team
