The Laboratory Education Coordinator will be responsible for the direct support and coordination of the education programs for Sequenom’s clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities:

•Coordinate and support the clinical laboratory scientist training program.

•Identify and schedule outside speakers for laboratory education sessions, including vendors, clinical leaders and academics.

•Maintain documentation and records for trainees and clinical training program.

•Work with continuing and professional education organizations such as PACE to create programs and maintain accreditation.

•Work closely with the Director of Clinical Science and Technology in communicating and resolving issues related to clinical education.

•Coordinate continuing education programs schedules and meeting rooms.

•Ensure that laboratory policies and procedures are followed.

•Communicate with the CA Department of Public Health for all Clinical Laboratory Training program documentation.

•Coordinate and work with Clinical Trainers and Laboratory supervisors regarding scheduling and selection of educational programs.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

•Bachelor of Science degree with 2-5 years relevant experience providing support to an accredited licensed education and/or training program.

•Familiarity with licensing programs in CA, such as nursing, Clinical Laboratory Scientists, Physical Therapy, etc.

•Previous experience interacting with the state of California supporting similar training programs.

•Previous experience working for a Clinical Laboratory highly desired.

•Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

•Excellent time management, interpersonal, training, and communication skills.

•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
