At AstraZeneca we believe in the potential of our people and you’ll develop beyond what you thought possible. We make the most of your skills and passion by actively supporting you to see what you can achieve no matter where you start with us.

Do you have a burning passion for technology and what it can do? Are you passionate about using your knowledge of technology in the quest to discover and develop medicines that change the lives of patients with serious diseases, such as cancer? Do you want to embark on a journey to become a technology leader in a world-leading biopharmaceutical company? If so, the AstraZeneca IT Leadership Programme- US is the perfect springboard to a senior technology role within our global business.

No pharma company is more aware of the vital part technology can play in scientific discovery than AstraZeneca. We believe in the art of the possible. We are committed to the pursuit of innovation through technologies, processes, services and collaboration opportunities that add considerable value to AstraZeneca’s overall mission and strategy – to deliver life changing medicines to patients.

What does the programme involve?

Starting in 2018, the two-year programme comprises four rotations, each lasting six months and each increasing in the responsibility and challenge it offers. You could be working on business process change, testing business solutions, implementing cloud-based technologies, developing mobile applications and lots more besides.

With the flexibility to tailor the programme to your own interests, you’ll build expertise in all facets of IT, from project management and business analysis to application maintenance and design. You’ll also interact with internal customers in functions across the business, giving you invaluable insights into AstraZeneca and the pharma industry, and the chance to influence the way decisions are made.

Through a variety of training and development initiatives combined with on-the-job experience, we’ll help you develop core professional, technical and leadership skills. You’ll be assigned a mentor who has the credibility and business experience to support your growth. There will be frequent opportunities to review your progress and discuss your placement options, to keep your career on track. And you’ll be able to build a strong network of contacts.
