Job Description

Oncology is a key therapeutic area for AbbVie, with a portfolio consisting of three marketed products — Imbruvica, Venclexta, and Empliciti — and a pipeline containing multiple promising new molecules that are being studied in nearly 200 clinical trials in 19 different types of cancer. AbbVie is expanding its oncology hub on the West Coast, with three sites in the San Francisco Bay Area (Redwood City, South San Francisco, and Sunnyvale) focused on the discovery and development of novel oncology therapies. More than 1,000 AbbVie scientists, clinicians, and product developers with strong entrepreneurial roots work across these three sites. They combine their expertise in immuno-oncology, stem cells, and cell-signaling with their knowledge of bispecific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and covalent-inhibitor technologies to discover and develop novel cancer treatments. This position is based at Stemcentrx, AbbVie's South San Francisco, CA location.

As part of a talented and multi-disciplinary team advancing exciting new approaches to drug development, Stemcentrx is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Information Technology Department. The Information Technology Manager will be responsible for providing configuration, support and maintenance of key end user on-premise assets including Research and Discovery systems, while serving as a senior resource for key on-premise compute platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates, installs and resolves issues with new software releases, system upgrades, patches and software related problems for systems used in the laboratory.
  • Evaluates, installs and resolves issues with new software releases, system upgrades, patches and software related problems for server or cloud based R&D systems.
  • Architects, plans, and maintains the installation and usage of software and equipment used in the laboratory.
  • Serves as the escalation point of contact with service and technology providers/vendors for all software used by R&D.
  • Authors, performs and maintains systems validation as required for GxP systems.
  • Authors, maintains and enforces SOPs for the management of all GXP systems and laboratory systems.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of end user and laboratory systems support experience.
  • Experience with support of GxP validated systems.
  • R&D Systems Support Experience: Waters Empower; ThermoFisher Chromeleon, Analyst and Watson; Tableau Software; SAS Institute JMP and SAS Analytics Pro; Quality DMS systems; QMS systems; Lab Instruments such as Acquity, Azure, LCMS, imaging systems, IonTorrent, etc.
  • Platform Experience: Linux (SuSE, RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS), Windows Server
