   Information Practice Director – Biometrics & Information

   Biometrics & Information Science unit (B&I) is the home of statistical, programming and information experts for late stage drug development. Focused on getting results for patients, our experts seek to answer drug development objectives and reduce uncertainty in product development, driving better decisions for AstraZeneca.  

   We’re champions of excellence in clinical trial design and interpretation. We use expertise in model-based drug development, real world evidence, health technology assessment, safety science and personalised healthcare and biomarkers with high quality analytics to deliver objective design and decision-making criteria, spelling out any uncertainty. We are driving the adoption of clinical information standards across our drug programmes to enhance our ability to exploit information – both practically and creatively – across studies, projects and therapy areas. We champion the standardisation of information, quality and integrity in everything we do.  

   B&I is part of our Global Medicines Development (GMD) division  

   We are currently recruiting for an Information Practice Director (IPD) to take a key role within our Information Practice team.  

   The IPD works to continuously improve customer value by developing & strengthening the IP capability to consistently deliver the IP scope of services, now and into the future.  

   The role spans setting strategy, to operationalizing opportunities, to ensuring adoption, in order to achieve the ultimate outcome. The IPD interacts broadly across science units and at all levels to achieve its purpose, also externally.  

   Responsibilities.  

   You will drive identification, development and consistent adoption of Good Practice for IP Scope of Services. Taking business ownership of Processes and Information tools (including licences). Leading global programmes/projects (e.g. Industry collaborations and Information-related improvement projects)  

   You will have a future outlook, develop strategy, and operationalize opportunities into IP Services, while establishing strong relationships with relevant stakeholders both externally and across AZ science units, functions and Tas and promoting Information Practice within AZ and in the outside community

   Experience  

       
  •      Expert knowledge of evidence-based drug development    
  •    
  •      Expert knowledge of establishing good practice in a regulated environment    
  •    
  •      Leadership skills and problem solving capabilities.    
  •    
  •      Ability to anticipate the future, work autonomously, make sound decisions, and think broadly to see the bigger picture    
  •    
  •      Experience of leading change management.    
  •    
  •      Ability to construct business cases, engage stakeholders, and implement projects.    
  •    
  •      Proven ability to crisply communicate strategic and technical information.    
  •    
  •      Well-developed conceptual and integrative thinking.    
  •    
  •      Experience of developing and using appropriate methods to identify and generate robust evidence for portfolio decision-making.    
  •    
  •      Experience of clinical program design and associated knowledge management.    
  •    
  •      Thought leadership in a relevant topic.    
  •    
  •      Working knowledge of at least one of our therapeutic areas.

  •      Project &/or Programme Management Experienc    
  •    
  •      Undergraduate degree or equivalent. Preferably a post-graduate qualification.
