Job Description

Summary: Design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial processes within the Warehouse and Logistics department. This will include human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics, material flow and production coordination.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Develop value stream maps for current and future Warehouse and Logistic processes.
* Establish efficient and effective material flow processes for on-site and off-site movements.
* Design processes to include a focus on the ergonomic safety factors, quality compliance and efficient utilization of resources.
* Design product packaging to ensure product integrity and appeal under varying shipping and storage/display conditions.
* Tests, analyzes, and selects materials for packaging based on durability and cost effectiveness.
* Design transportation and storage equipment to protect raw materials.
* Identify the appropriate process and techniques for handling materials.
* Research new technologies and methods and apply them as appropriate.
* Work closely with suppliers, vendors, and Procurement to improve storage capacity thru packaging variations.
* Design and improve efficient use of 2-8C, -30C, and -80C through better designed storage.
* Train personnel as needed on solutions.


Education and Experience:
* Requires a bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or similar field of study with 2+ years of relevant experience supporting a warehouse, distribution or manufacturing environment.
* Preferred Six Sigma Black Belt.
* Has knowledge of commonly-used lean concepts, practices, and procedures within Supply Chain and Distribution.
* Familiar with quality engineering methodologies.
* Strong knowledge of quality standards, production guideines, business process and documents management.
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
* cGMP experience would be a plus.
