Job Summary
The applicant will be responsible for hands-on in vivo research, data collection, and analysis in drug discovery pharmacology in the area of Reproductive Health

Principal Responsibilities:
• Execute in vivo efficacy studies in exploratory feasibility and drug discovery in the Reproductive Health area

• Validate and optimize models of women’s reproductive biology for multiple projects (for example, models of polycystic ovarian syndrome and amenorrhea)

• Perform in vivo studies that include the following techniques: monitoring estrous cycle progression, follicle development and retrieval.

• Accurately perform laboratory procedures including handling, dosing, blood sampling and tissue harvest and in vitro/ex vivo biochemical, tissue- and cell-based assays.

• Perform surgical procedures as needed (for example vessel cannulation, icv probe implantation)

• Analyze, summarize and archive data in an accurate, timely and complete manner.

• Prepare written technical reports, summaries and animal protocols.

• Maintain familiarity with current scientific literature and pertinent new technology. Adapt concepts from literature to bench research.

• Use scientific concepts and judgment, in accordance with company objectives, to solve moderately complex problems in creative and effective ways.

• Operate, trouble shoot and appropriately maintain equipment necessary for research procedures.

• Supervise, as needed, external studies conducted at CROs.

• Contribute to the preparation of external publications (manuscripts and abstracts), presentations, and patents.

• Comply with all safety and animal care requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in disciplines related to job function.
• Reproductive health background, including estrous cycle monitoring and follicle retrieval. Knowledge of ultrasound techniques is a plus.
• Highly proficient in vivo and ex vivo laboratory skills.
• 5 years of laboratory work experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as a team member.
• Strong organizational and self-management skills
