Summary:


Working in close partnership with the senior management team, line management, employees and the Human Resources team, this position will be responsible for both hands-on and strategic roles in providing human resources expertise in employee relations, performance management, coaching/development, compensation and benefits, conflict management, organizational development, training and other strategic HR initiatives.  Provides HR support and organization consulting to assigned business units. Contributes to HR planning and implements those plans accordingly.   May select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Assist with formulation and implementation of HR strategies, objectives and processes which are fully aligned to the overall site business strategy in conjunction with the relevant function Heads and the Function HR Head and Global Function Head.

·         Supports HR Site Head in establishing performance management, reward and recognition strategies which facilitate, support and maintain a high performance culture.

·         Works with the senior management teams to understand business strategies, diagnose current organization performance, and develop/implement plans to build needed organization capabilities and support aggressive growth.

·         Partners with business area management to plan and deliver human resource programs, including staffing, full life cycle performance management, employee relations, compensation, and training and development.

·         Resolves employee relations issues through a systemic approach.

·         Coordinates communication of various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.

·         Serve as a day-to-day advisor and coach to managers and employees as well as the first point-of-contact for all human resource related issues/questions.

·         Interacts with senior internal and/or external personnel on significant human resource matters.

·         Responsible for delivering the On-Board and Off- Board processes.

·         Manages the relationship with contingent workforce vendor and site contact for all temporary workforce issues and questions.

·         Take on HR projects and other administrative duties as required.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelors degree in Business Management or related discipline. Equivalent experience may be accepted.

English

7+ years of Human Resources is required.

Must have experience in managing employee relations.

Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry practices preferred.

Exceptional influencing skills such as the ability to use data to support an argument and influence outcomes.

Complete understanding and use of human resources planning concepts/principles.

Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional issues.

Strong background in California employment law and other government compliance regulations.

Must have excellent oral and written communications skills along with an ability to multitask.

Success in utilizing data, analysis, trends, and reports to drive business needs.

Must be computer literate.

Knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel and Brassring are a plus.

Peoplesoft experience a plus.
