Job Description

The Head, Health Economics & Outcomes Research is a full-time position based in Boston, MA.

•   Supports development of HEOR strategies and assist in creating tactics for economic value & quality of life arguments during product development and launch to support pricing and reimbursement across primary customer segments
•   Supports strategy for HEOR communication in collaboration with the brand team and managed markets liaisons
•   Builds constructive win-win collaborations with key payers, integrated healthcare delivery systems and scientific/medical organizations to generate analyses supporting the brand value proposition
•   Ensures effective project management through RFP development, selection of research partners, contract execution, budget planning, protocol design, analytic plan development, oversight of data collection/acquisition, data analysis, and development of research findings into publications
•   Supports alignment of HEOR strategies with key internal stakeholders, including Brand Marketing, Pricing and Contracting, Managed Market Sales, and Medical Affairs and Clinical Development
•   Assists in building comprehensive value arguments to improve market access, utilization and patient outcomes, thereby increasing product performance and achieving business goals including assessments of PRO, Comparative Effectiveness Studies and Real-World Outcomes.
•   Supports the development of research projects with key opinion leaders and communication of data & research outcomes
•   Supports the development and implementation of field-based, customer-focused initiatives (e.g., models, presentations, publications, slide kits, formulary/regulatory dossiers)
•   Supports the coordination necessary for US and global randomized and observational clinical data to create and include economic arguments
•   Designs and develops pharmacoeconomic models
•   Develops and/or coordinates the development of product dossiers
•   Develops research plans, protocols and budgets, conducts analyses, and prepare drafts and final reports, abstracts, and manuscripts

Requirements

Skill Requirements
•   PhD Preferred or Master’s degree in appropriate field required (heath economics, epidemiology, outcomes research, public health, business/health services research, or biostatistics)
•   Advanced knowledge and experience in conducting health economics, health related quality of life, and/or health services research studies and the evaluation of health care interventions
•   Minimum 10 years’ experience in health economics, outcomes research, pricing, reimbursement, and/or portfolio analysis, with at least 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry or healthcare
•   Successful record of peer-reviewed scientific publications, dossier development, and strategic, customer-focused HEOR tool development
•   Experience in preparing or reviewing materials for drug formularies
•   In-depth knowledge of health care systems in the US, including managed care organizations, PBMs, Medicare, and Medicaid
•   Proven record of outstanding written and verbal communication and negotiation skills, with experience interacting with and presenting to key customers
