At AstraZeneca we believe in the potential of our people and you’ll develop beyond what you thought possible. We make the most of your skills and passion by actively supporting you to see what you can achieve no matter where you start with us.

As a global, science-led biopharmaceutical company delivering medicines to patients through innovative science and excellence in development and commercialisation, we are well-placed to turn innovative molecules into medicines that are life changing. We invest in three main therapy areas -Oncology, Cardiovascular & Metabolic Disease and Respiratory.

When we see an opportunity for change we seize it and make it happen, because an opportunity no matter how small can be the start of something big. Delivering life-changing medicines is about being entrepreneurial -finding those moments and recognising their potential.

Global IT

In AZ IT, we are helping to push the boundaries of science to deliver life changing medicines by continuously improving our IT environment and by working closely with the business to innovate for competitive advantage

AstraZeneca’s SET business units define their priorities to align with our company’s strategic priorities. Our customer-facing IT (CFIT) teams are our primary interface to these business units, and work in partnership to define how IT can provide support through
their respective IT Strategy and Roadmap and IT priorities. To provide this support, our CFIT teams work with our Shared Services teams to define the required enterprise-wide IT solution platforms, infrastructure and services.
To deliver world-class IT, we have set out the five areas we must
excel in as an IT organisation:

  • Focus on the Customer
  • Deliver Operational Excellence
  • Technical Leadership
  • Simplification
  • Collaboration

The Role: Senior Global HR BP

The job holder will directly manage and influence the activity of 3 Global HRBPs, 2 Country Heads of HR who currently lead a local team of CoE & HRBPs, and a Head of Early Talent & L&D. As the HR operating model matures within our India and Mexico locations, it anticipated that the level of direct CoE management will decrease.

The role has opened as a result of the current incumbent taking an internal promotion to another part of the business.

The person appointed into this role will be given ample opportunity to contribute to the ongoing IT People journey. Given that much of the initial organisational redesign and restructuring has taken place, the business unit is poised for its next phase of evolution that will allow the job holder to focus on true ‘value add’ initiatives incorporating all aspects of talent management and development, enhancing performance, developing a performance culture, driving high levels of employee engagement and providing a strategic partnering service to the CIO and ITLT.

The successful candidate will be an experienced global HR Business Partner working at Director level, have delivered great solutions and results in a high change environment. In addition to this, he/she will have worked in large complex multi-national and highly matrixed environments and bring an enterprise-wide mind set. Experience in emerging markets and partnering with a CIO / IT function would be highly advantageous whilst sector experience in pharmaceutical is not a requirement. He/she will have strong collaboration skills, able to influence change, challenge constructively and keen to make a wide contribution to the business.

AstraZeneca is focused on attracting exceptionally talented individuals with high potential and with the ambition to fulfil more senior global roles in the organisation in the future.

There is a preference for the job holder to be based in UK (Cambridge) or US (Gaithersburg). For the right person, relocation support will be provided.

AstraZeneca is an equal opportunity employer. AstraZeneca will consider all qualified applicants for employment without discrimination on grounds of disability, sex or sexual orientation, pregnancy or maternity leave status, race or national or ethnic origin, age, religion or belief, gender identity or re-assignment, marital or civil partnership status, protected veteran status (if applicable) or any other characteristic protected by law. AstraZeneca only employs individuals with the right to work in the country/ies where the role is advertised.
