They represent many of the most well recognized and respected products in the industry, and build strong relationships with healthcare professionals.
The Global Channel Excellence Leader’s primary responsibilities: 1) Partner with the Multi-Channel Marketing Leader to build and maintain trusting relationships with the US and Global Cardiovascular/Metabolic brand teams (Digital Portfolio Leads, Brand Managers, IT Leaders); 2) Evaluate all program and campaign demand, and provide end-to-end oversight and Digital SME guidance in driving the intended business outcomes; and 3) increase high value actions through assessing operational effectiveness leading to actionable insights in partnership with channel SME network.
The Global Channel Excellence Leader is the digital channel expert for the Global Commercial Organization, ensuring that appropriate service offerings, capabilities, and partners are in place to support all commercial HCP and patient market strategies. The leader will develop and share digital analytics best practices and strategies, and serve as an evangelist for data-driven decision-making. The role is responsible for identifying, operationalizing, evolving, and maintaining a comprehensive set of class-leading digital capabilities and processes in support of Brand strategies within the context of the broader commercial operations governance structure.
Finally, the role has accountability for the delivery against the shared goals and objectives across GPPS, Customer Experience & Innovation Group, Global Content Planning, Promotion & Approval and Brand teams, driving customer satisfaction and AZ US business outcomes.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the Digital Channel SME in every phase of a digital project from onboarding new creative agencies to developing channel strategies through scoping and execution to post-production responsibilities.
Provide consultation and recommendations in the identification of KPIs for marketing programs through understanding internal stakeholder needs.
Collaborate with other digital stakeholders to establish reporting needs and methods; provide training and support in using and interpreting data.
Make recommendations for optimizing the digital customer experience by utilizing web analytics, mobile analytics, email analytics, transactional data, offline data, and customer insight.
Collaborate closely with the other functional disciplines and external partners to ensure that technology-related project deliverables are of the highest quality and that scope is managed per original estimates.
Manage and engage in regular check-ins with the delivery team and provide functional/technical/UX guidance in a timely fashion ensuring the latest communicated business requirements are being met; conduct regular meetings to review project risks and issues, developing contingency plans where required.
Represent the voice of the market by acting as the primary conduit for market feedback up to regional and global teams to inform continuous service/capability improvements.
Maintain a working knowledge of digital analytics to ensure all programs are set up to be measured and evaluated appropriately.
Maintain an external focus to stay abreast of current technology channel trends and emerging opportunities to ensure that AZ is continually innovating, and maintaining a true competitive edge.
Ensure adherence to all AstraZeneca and Commercial Operations standards and policies.

- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, marketing, healthcare-related fields, digital marketing, technology capability, and/or information services
- 2+ years’ experience in agency/digital marketing preferred
- Knowledge of best practices across technologies (project management, deployment, client/server side, QA, etc.)
- Advanced ability to analyze business requirements quickly to determine and assess feasibility
- Capable of managing high stress situations and dealing with changes
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and organization skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-focused Positive, proactive, go-getter personality ready to take on new challenges
- Significant marketing or promotional implementation experience
- Thorough understanding of AZ business model
- Strong ability to lead through change
- Proficiency in technology channels
