The GES Asset Planner role typically spans the 3 to 24 month planning horizon and is held accountable for the delivery of a number of core planning processes within the allocated brand portfolio, ensuring that mid to long-term supply is effectively balanced against demand. Further, the role will partner with the Supply Chain Lead and be accountable for leading the execution of the agreed brand strategy within the above horizon. Acting as the primary GES interface into the Global Supply Planner, the role will also represent GES in the Global Product S&OP and lead the local Pre S&OP for their assigned externally sourced supply chains.

Main responsibilities:

In this integral role, the GES Asset Planner will subsume overall accountability for the delivery of the agreed GES commitments to the Global supply chain plan within the boundaries of the products they represent. The role will ensure that supply within the 3 – 24 month horizon is secure, ensuring customer service levels are achieved and inventory levels are optimised.

You will be accountable for agreeing the inventory RBU/ABU for GES and executing against the inventory budget. As accountability will also extend to the delivery of the agreed inventory budget, tracking inventory vs target will be necessary, and the Asset Planner will be expected to deploy the applicable corrective action to ensure delivery of the inventory target.

You will represent GES in contributing to the Global monthly Product S&OP process for assigned assets in a standardised manner in line with the global planning calendar in order to manage demand and supply exceptions, escalating issues where necessary and subsequently updating the local site plan based on agreed solutions.

The GES Asset Planner will be accountable for the stock calculation/renewal process for products produced by GES, and for undertaking scenario planning of volumes, capacities etc. Scenario planning can span from the Tactical through to Strategic time horizon (0-5 years).

You will be required to regularly maintain, refresh and challenge standard tactical capacity outlooks for 3rd party assets on the brands supported, ensuring supply and demand is balanced and mitigate against any risk to supply in collaboration with the Global Supply Planner and Supply Chain Lead.

You will be accountable for the development of local options and the execution of supply solutions and communicating the associated risks and will support issue resolution impacting supported brands within the 3 – 24 month horizon

You will act as the primary interface between GES and the Global Supply Planner


  • Extensive experience in a Supply Chain Environment (Manufacturing, Planning)
  • Advanced supply chain (capacity and inventory) planning skills
  • Experience in managing and developing solutions for supply chain events
  • Understanding of different supply methods (IRL, VMI/CMI, Flow, Kanban)
  • Understanding of supply chain planning parameters, master data and master data integrity & quality
  • Experience in collaboration with the key interfaces within the end to end supply chain, with manufacturing and between supply chain and commercial functions
  • Excellent communications and collaboration skills required to manage a multitude of customers and stakeholders, both internal and external to AZ.
  • Proficient in using key Lean Tools


  • A degree or equivalent in Business, Logistics, Sciences or Engineering is preferred, equivalent experience will be taken into account.
  • Experience in participating in the S&OP process
  • Commercial experience is a plus
  • SAP ERP (MRP) knowledge
