Job Description

We are seeking a highly energetic researcher to join our R&D Formulation group. Responsibilities will include contributing to the development of liquid and solid enzyme formulations through preparation, characterization, and testing of a wide variety of prototype enzyme compositions. Activities will include producing test samples and characterizing them using a broad range of analytical and application assays. The successful candidate will develop and troubleshoot methods aimed at measuring the chemical, physical, and microbiological characteristics of protein formulations. This position requires hands-on work in the laboratory and pilot plant.

The ideal candidate has:

• Hands-on experience in the preparation and analysis of small molecule and/or protein formulations.
• Experience in protein analysis and analytical method development (e.g., enzyme activity assays, spectroscopy, gel techniques, colorimetric assay, HPLC, microscopy, etc.).
• Experience with high throughput robotic screening a plus.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Comfortable interpreting and discussing data in formal and informal settings.
• High attention to detail with excellent communication skills.

Requirements

Job Qualifications

• BS/MS in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Food Science, or related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant work experience, including hands-on laboratory research in formulation development.
• Understanding of protein-protein, protein-solvent and protein-excipient interactions.
• Basic experimental design, statistics knowledge and analytical principles.
• Motivated self-starter with good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Versatile team player – ability to work on multiple projects at once; willingness to learn new techniques.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
