AstraZeneca holds a unique position in respiratory disease, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), with a range of differentiated potential medicines in development by leveraging novel combinations, biologics and devices. The pipeline also has a number of promising assets in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases within areas such as psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, systemic lupus and rheumatoid arthritis

As a Forecasting & Performance Assessment Leader, you will demonstrate strong technical and analytical skills together with superior communication skills in both oral and written form. In addition, you must have a demonstrated ability to deliver on short timelines, simultaneously manage multiple projects and competing priorities. You effectively draw out and succinctly communicate the insight and the "so what" a critical requirement with outputs being consumed at the most senior level of the organization. You will work in a blended role spanning data analysis to the management of reporting operations supporting multiple brands within the Respiratory portfolio. You have expertise in managing and analyzing a range of large, secondary pharmaceutical databases (Xponent, Plantrak, APLD) required with 5+ years of experience. Your high level of proficiency in database design & management including the development of standardized data reports for broad consumption and your ability to quickly develop and report out on ad hoc questions including those requiring custom analytical approach is a must. Outputs will be used across the portfolio in order to provide robust diagnosis of brand performance/health across customers and channels. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are required. Effective written, verbal and presentation skills are a must, along with a drive for continuous improvement and challenging the status quo. These are the key factors for success in this position.

As a Forecasting & Performance Assessment Leader, your main responsibilities will involve:

Lead development and communication of a variety of national and sub-national data reporting & analytics including the operational elements of inventory and report modifications

Day-to-day contact with data suppliers (e.g., IMS) and reporting contractors to ensure smooth and timely delivery of data and accuracy in reporting. Responsible for pulling through any and all changes to reports, day-to-day contact point with Central Operations for: requests for data for use in central reporting, requests for updates in market definitions and other ad hoc requests. Responsible for key elements of weekly and monthly performance reporting; individual must have the ability to quickly pivot and serve as a "flex" resource as needed for updating individual brands, take point on portfolio views and provide next to final QC on key deliverables

Managing forecasts inputs for each of the four financial reporting cycles for inhaled brands in the Respiratory Portfolio

Must be able to independently develop concise and compelling presentations capturing the key business insights/results coupled with ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders with a strong solutions orientation.

Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Advanced Quantitative degree; preferably in one of the following fields: Economics, Operations Research, Statistics, Math or Engineering
  • 3+ years of work experience in pharmaceutical industry, including at least 2+ years involving the design & execution of brand performance analytics, forecasting and reporting across different customers (HCP's, Payers, Patients) and channels
  • Proficiency/solid knowledge regarding standard pharmaceutical industry data sources including IMS NPA, Xponent, APLD/LRx as well as standard primary tracking studies
  • Project management skills; preferably with a fine attention to detail with a proven track record of accuracy in reporting
  • 3+ years of work experience in large database management using a range of programming (SAS, SPSS, advanced excel including MACRO programs); preferably a total of 5 years
  • Knowledge of MS Office products (e.g. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Manage external contracting support as required
  • Working knowledge of segmentation techniques, network analysis, influence modeling, data mining and visualization considered a plus.
