Job Description

We are currently recruiting a motivated, highly organized individual who will work to enable and execute experiments focused on microbial fermentation, and who will interact with a knowledgeable and friendly multidisciplinary team of scientists to implement and maintain standard operations and data records related to this research.  Duties will include, but are not limited to: shake flask and bioreactor fermentation of yeast for biologic drug production, protein quantification following fermentation (SDS PAGE, Western Blot, ELISA), adaptation of fermentation techniques to an automation platform.  As part of the team, the individual will have the opportunity to make visible and recognized contributions to scientific research and cross-train in new technical areas.



Starting date.  The position is available immediately.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

* BS/MS or equivalent in a relevant scientific field (engineering, chemistry, biochemistry);

* Prior industrial/academic laboratory experience required;

* Prior experience with yeast fermentation required;

* Background in protein analytical techniques required;

* Prior experience with automation preferred;

* Prior publication record preferred;

* Superior analytical mindset, meticulous attention to details, and organization skills are critical;

* Ability to multi-task and organize multiple experiments simultaneously;

* Ability and willingness to work with and maintain technical instruments/equipment;

* Enthusiastic, collaborative and proactive attitude required;

* Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;

* Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills are required to liaise with investigators and document effective protocols;

* Exhibit commitment producing accurate and reproducibly high-quality work required;

* Possess awareness of basic safety issues, as well as the ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment;

* Focus on continued skill building and career development
