Job Description

The Gladstone Instituted is recruiting for a Facilities Coordinator. The person in this position will provide support to the Facilities Manager by performing day to day facilities related duties. S/he will be responsible for managing duties that span from managing the conference room calendar and set ups to custodial quality assurance and coordination. S/he will act as the primary back up for the Facilities Manager. The person in this position will be responsible for the following:

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Oversee conference room schedule and perform room set ups as needed. Verify schedule and room use. Coordinate special events with other Gladstone staff for both internal and external parties, and ensure facility is prepared.
  • Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, coordinate projects for facilities including laboratories, offices and animal facility. Projects may include but are not limited to furniture remodels, maintaining laboratory equipment, equipment relocations, equipment storage inventory systems and EH&S requirements. For each project, coordinate with other related departments outside vendors, subcontractors, and UCSF staff as needed.
  • Coordinate with lab aides institute-wide on various tasks as assigned.
  • Coordinate custodial services with custodial staff on a daily basis and conduct walk thru to ensure work has been completed. Provide daily updates to the Facilities Manager. Maintain building maintenance requirements on a daily, weekly, and periodic basis to maintain facility in “like new” condition.
  • Facilities Level 1 maintenance request

  • Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

  • High school with addition higher education or training in some aspect of facilities maintenance.
  • 3+ years of experience in field including facilities maintenance repair or project coordination
  • Experience with Biotech industry highly desirable.
