Oversee the operation and maintenance of all buildings, utilities, grounds and assets of Perseid Therapeutics. Responsible for all lab support, EH&S and Security functions for two buildings encompassing approximately 43,000 square feet. Provide hands-on technical support as required.

Ensure all labs and lab personnel are supported to meet business needs; consumables, gasses, asset maintenance and calibration, glassware, solutions (media, buffers, water, chemicals), safety equipment and supplies.

Develop and manage department budget of approximately $3.5 million.

Coordinate management of lab and office areas and office space allocation. Work with other departments to forecast space needs to meet business needs. Participate in planning and execution of facility improvements.

Develop and oversee maintenance and calibration programs for the facility, utility systems and lab equipment.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies including: OSHA, FDA, DOH, EPA, Fire Department, city audits, Health Department, etc.

Accessible 24x7 and primary facilities person responding to emergencies.

Oversee the following facility services; physical security, trash removal, recycling, document destruction, break room services, office supplies, office furnishings and office equipment (copiers), garment services, janitorial.

Manages the selection and monitors the performance of outside contractors and consultants.

Lead member of emergency response team and manages organization & readiness of emergency response team.

Track and manage all assets, coordinating with Finance and end users

The position reports to the VP of Process Development & Manufacturing and may have 1 -- 2 direct reports. Is also responsible for oversight of outside contractors and janitorial services.

Requirements

Required: High School diploma is required and some college or vocational training is preferred.

Minimum 10 years experience at a small to medium sized biotech company including 3+ years experience managing one or more staff is preferred.

Exposure to operations involving some of the following engineering disciplines: Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Environmental, and Industrial.

Demonstrated understanding of systems needed to manage an assigned area such as: HVAC, electrical, process systems, plumbing/piping, pneumatics, instrumentation/automation, carpentry, or general maintenance, both interior and exterior.

Experience working in a pharmaceutical/biotech R&D environment that includes an animal facility.

This position requires hands-on involvement in managing facilities functions and the supervision of one or more permanent or temporary staff.

Ability to lift objects weighing at least 50 lbs.

Knowledge of building operating systems, maintenance and repair of utilities systems at a biopharmaceutical facility.

Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.

Knowledge of all federal, state, and local codes and ordinances pertinent to facilities maintenance.

Effective project management and leadership skills.

Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills. Good oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated effective negotiating skills.

Budget preparation, tracking of budget vs. actual, managing department within budget and ability to interact effectively with Finance and HR functions.

Knowledge/understanding of purchasing/receivables software, preferably enterprise management software such as SAP.

Preferred: Experience with CAD programs and knowledge of CAD design is desirable.
