Wilmington, DE, you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. North American Commercial is the ‘face’ of AstraZeneca and MedImmune to our many healthcare clients. They represent many of the most well recognized and respected products in the industry, and build strong relationships with healthcare professionals.

The Executive Director Enterprise Insights and Analytics, is part of the US Commercial Operations Leadership Team, reporting to the VP of Commercial Operations The role leads the insight and Analytics functions essential for support of the US commercial organization, and must work across multiple functions (eg, Sales, Marketing, MAPS) to balance the immediate demands with future capabilities needed to deliver the US Business strategy.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for establishing and delivering the vision for the Insight and Analytics teams aligned with the business/brand strategies as well as MAPS and Customer facing roles.

Provides leadership and strategic direction for all key I&A capabilities areas including insight tools forecasting, advanced analytics, marketing sciences, marketing analytics, and sales force analytics.

Implements world-class analytics capabilities across multiple therapeutic areas and customer types-HCP, Patients, and Payer.

Assesses novel methodologies and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Coaches and delivers the tools to support learning and development for direct and indirect reports creating a supportive work environment where everyone has the opportunity to fulfill their potential.

Reporting Relationship

Direct Reports – I&A TA Leads, I&A MAPS Lead, Marketing Sciences Lead

Indirect Reports – BIDs, Business Analytics Managers, Business Analytics Analysts, Primary Research/ CI Managers, Primary Research/ CI Analysts, forecasters, QCI Managers, CILs, Business Insights and Analytics Directors

Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; preferably in a relevant subject area.
  • 15+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech Commercial experience, in roles of increasing accountability.
  • Functional expertise in Market Research, Business Insights, and Marketing Analytics.
  • Prior people management experience in a Market Research/Analytical setting

Desired Requirements:

  • Advanced Degree
  • Prior experience in other areas of analytics (e.g. Forecasting, Promotional Response)
  • Demonstrated success implementing and maintaining novel analytics methodologies.
  • Knowledge of the AZ business planning process
  • Experience managing external partners and vendors
  • Thought leader on current capability building best practice.
  • Proven capability in influencing a diverse network of senior leaders and stakeholders.
