Job Description

Essential Job Responsibilities:
* Observe functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems, and the need for service, repair and/or replacement of electrical, electronic and mechanical components.
* Discuss performance issues and improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff.
* Readsand understand electrical schematics for the purpose of aiding with troubleshooting of equipment/process issues.
* Ensure safe and efficient hands-on maintenance of all plant manufacturing equipment and related support equipment with strict adherence to SOP's, cGMP's, and quality standards.
* Use technical manuals, and knowledge of electronic systems and components and their functions for the purpose of troubleshooting equipment/process related issues.
* Understand and has ability to trouble-shoot solid-state motor drives, solid-state temperature controllers, solid-state conductivity transmitters, pH transmitters and computer-based controllers.
* Set up standard test, conducts functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability of equipment/processes
* Analyze and interprets data from solid-state motor drives, controllers, oscilloscope, digital volt meters and other troubleshooting equipment.
* Check newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
* Maintain clean, orderly and free of hazards work space/environment.
* Full gowning required when entering and working on production floor.
* Support Production On-Call needs.
* May have to work in confined spaces.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Must be able to troubleshoot highly integrated PLC controlled equipment/processes.
* Ability to read and understand electrical drawing including control diagrams and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
* Actively participate in the Continuous Improvement process.
* Must possess excellent mechanical skills.
* Must be able to work in a team environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills especially for necessary required document control and equipment operation.
* Ability to communicate across the business with all personnel.
* Must be able to lift at least of 50 lbs.
* Ability to obtain forklift and aerial lift platform licenses.
* Comfort and flexibility to work in a changing environment.
* Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office to assist in compiling reports and utilizing spreadsheets for parts and project tracking.
* Ability to prepare technical reports for documenting issues/changes to equipment.

Tool Usage Requirements:
* General hand tools.
* Various power tools such as, but not limited to, drill motors, saws all, band saw, hammer drill etc.
* Shop Equipment: Horizontal band saw, drill Press, belt sanders, grinders, vertical band saw etc.
* Diagnostic tools such as digital volt meters, oscilloscope, digital calipers etc.

Educational

Requirements

* Associates degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent certification preferred.
* Five years of experience within electro mechanical technician field required.
* Documented proficient working knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC/Controls/Protocols platforms preferred.
