Job Description

Tasks and Responsibilities:

·Responsible for the implementation and ongoing maintenance of environmental, health and safety prevention and compliance programs

·Lead and document risk assessments, incident investigations and other occupational safety programs

·Responsible for compliance and efficient operation of the hazardous waste program

·Manage the environmental programs such as wastewater, stormwater and air emission requirements

·Act as the EH&S expert for facilities changes, moves and enhancements in conformance with local building/fire codes

·Serve as the representative to ensure corporate and insurance programs are implemented at the site

·Collect and manage EH&S sustainability and key performance metrics

·Liaison between location and local regulatory agencies

·Conduct training in areas such as chemical/lab safety, ergonomics, emergency response and life safety

·Other responsibilities may include regulatory interpretation, planning, auditing, and information systems evaluation and implementation

Skills / Experience -:

·5 - 10 years relevant experience

·Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech or chemical company preferred

·Environmental compliance experience

·Experience with DNR and local FD requirements

·Knowledge of scientific principles and concepts

·Experience in various lab safety programs

·Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought

·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·Knowledge and skills typically acquired through previous positions in fast-paced corporate environments which involved responsibility for similar work


Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Environmental Health and safety or related field preferred.
