Description

The Division Manager manages a conference unit to produce quality, commercially viable, market-driven conferences to maximize profit.
The role of this uniquely entrepreneurial position is to lead a team in the development, production, packaging and presentation of breakthrough business to business event experiences that integrate professional development with personal fulfillment to satisfy defined, unmet needs of specific markets across various vertical market sectors.
We are seeking a commercially-driven, well-networked, highly collaborative, research-oriented and creative professional who will manage a group of Conference Producers and have full accountability for the Biopharmaceutical and Healthcare Division of conferences at IIR USA. He/She will report directly to the CEO.
This leadership position requires a forward-thinking, innovative, “big picture” mentality and commercial business sense, as well as strong leadership skills, a track record of P&L responsibility, event/conference knowledge or experience (preferred).  Strong knowledge of the Pharmaceutical/Healthcare/Life Sciences Markets is desired.

Responsibilities
• Hires, trains, motivates, manages and monitors Conference Producers and conducts performance reviews
•Attends association meetings, competitive events and all division conferences over 75 or more
when conference is a new market
•Attends marketing meetings as needs and contributes to marketing briefs
•Supervises desktop/artwork at discretion of Marketing Director
•Responsible for P&L, administrations (bills, invoices, codes, and record-keeping), management of accruals and other monthly accounting reports (productivity, and management reports, strategic planning – forward schedule, annual development, joint ventures with outside publications/associations, venue selection and management of hotel logistics)
•Contributes to sales briefs and provides on-going direction and support to maximize sales revenue

Requirements

Desired Skills & Experience
•4-year college degree
•Innate desire and ability to uncover and identify new information, topics and trends
• 8-10 years professional experience minimum with at least 2 years of management experience
•Superb writing and verbal communication skills; Computer literacy
• Industry experience and knowledge
•Conference industry experience in similar role is a plus
