Job Description

Catalent Biologics is hiring for a Director, Supply Chain. This position is responsible for establishing and continuously improving Supply Chain and Customer Service policy and procedure for the Madison site and the Biologics business unit. This role is located in Madison, WI.

The Director, Supply Chain will manage Customer Services, Customer delivery schedules, Sales Order Processing, Demand Management, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), Master Production Scheduling (MPS) , Materials Supply Management, Procurement,  Artwork Change Management, Capacity Planning, Manufacturing Work Order generation, Supply Chain reporting and Supply Chain related JDE implementation and data elements, including item master, routing and bill of material.  This position is also responsible to insure activities of all assigned personnel result in the successful, timely and cost effective processing of orders to insure customer and stakeholder satisfaction.

Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:

•   Creates the strategic direction of supply chain and customer-oriented process to maximize customer satisfaction, while optimizing cost effectiveness and inventory levels.
•   Hires, trains, motivates, leads, develops and evaluates staff. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Ensures compliance with current federal, state and local regulations. Consults with Human Resources Department as appropriate.
•   Informs personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results.
•   Assists General Manager in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives related to Supply Chain activities.
•   Serves as the escalation point for both customer and supplier issues and complaints, including those issues that may affect the on-time and cost effective supply of product.
•   Works with the Business Development Team to develop innovative supply chain processes that provide market differentiation, capacity planning, and S&OP.
•   Develops and sustains customer relationships through direct interaction, responsiveness and accountability.  Maintain open communication with customers using appropriate tools as necessary
•   Designs and implements new or improved systems and processes to drive improvement in levels of customer satisfaction.
•   Manages and leads key initiatives for the Madison site’s working capital management.
•   Is responsible for driving performance to target in the key indicators for supply chain oriented measures.
•   Directs the supply chain team to manage customer services, product delivery schedules, sales order processing, demand management, SI&OP, MPS, materials supply management, procurement, artwork change management, capacity planning, manufacturing work order generation, supply chain reporting and supply chain related JDE data.
•   Creates and  supports, the implementation and execution of best practice processes such as Lean, Six Sigma, CAPA, ERP/JDE, SIOP.
•   Maintains effectiveness of the Quality System components relevant to this position.
•   Provides key input and reports that support financial revenue budget and reporting.
•   Responsible for the data integrity, management and communication of all supply related plans and schedules at the Madison facility.
•   Drives compliance with all applicable corporate and regulatory SOP and cGMP guidelines for their area of responsibility.
•   Other duties as assigned.

Requirements


Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field, with at least 5-10 years of progressively increasing managerial experience in customer service/supply chain.
• Master’s Degree in related field is preferred.
• Qualification equivalent to APICS certification a strong advantage.

Experience:

• Thorough and proven experience of ERP and supply chain systems.
• Prior biologics and/or commercial experience strongly preferred.
• Direct ERP Implementation experience an advantage.
• Proven project management experience.
• Proven experience of global supply chain management.
• Direct experience of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
