Job Description

Summary Description
The Senior Director, International Operations will develop and execute Raptor’s early access programs, specifically Named Patient Programs (including Individual Patient Requests, Early Access Programs, and the like, collectively called NPP) for Nephropathic Cystinosis and future indications.  The role reports in to the Vice President, Strategic Development.  This opportunity includes all activities related to facilitating drug access prior to commercialization efforts, registration, and/or broad product availability.

Responsibilities
Establishing early operations and in-country support for NPP
•Lead the efforts of a matrix team toward providing access to patients
•Ensure expeditious product release in each market
•Design, document and implement required NPP processes
•Coordinate due-diligence efforts across all functions including other Commercial managers,  PV, Manufacturing, Compliance, Quality, Legal, Finance, Medical and Regulatory
•Identify, select and contract with local partners and local consultants
•Coordinate training for all external parties, including but not limited to product, disease, market access and adherence programs
•Manage partners

Manage all ongoing Named Patient Programs
•Establish performance metrics for each partner/consultant
•Partner with local Raptor resources, if available
•Oversee contract execution and management for all partners
•Adapt global patient adherence programs to local markets

International Operations Strategy & General Responsibilities
•Coordinate with Program Management for planning and execution of  cross-functional approach in context of commercial launch planning and pipeline activities
•Prioritize and recommend sequencing for regions and local markets
•Timing and prioritize order of ex-US and ex-EU registration and build-out of resources
•Drive and influence development of necessary market access support, publications, marketing tools, etc.
•Develop partnership toolkit - local materials where necessary, publication selection, value dossier, objection handling
•Coordinate with global product messaging and positioning

Requirements

•The successful candidate will have 10+ years’ experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals, including work with orphan or ultra-orphan products
•5+ experience or at least two product launches in international markets
•Experience with commercial and NPP pathways to product access
•Minimum of bachelor’s degree in a science or technology, advanced degree preferred
•Experience with local regulatory and pricing/reimbursement authorities
•Able to drive performance in a multi-disciplinary environment
•Comfortable working concurrently in multiple countries and regions
•Domestic and global travel required 50-75%
•Commitment to being at Novato, CA and BV headquarters on regular basis
•Willingness to work in an office with dogs
