   Main Duties and Responsibilities  

   Scope  

 

   The Director, Access 360 Operations is responsible for all aspects of the AZ A360 operational strategy, management, liaising, training, and legal and compliance adherence. The Director will design, implement, evolve, and enhance best in class patient coverage and reimbursement support programs. He/she directs, builds, and leads teams to focus on execution of reimbursement support activities. He/she provides market access and reimbursement program acumen to access services, market access strategy, and brand teams in order to ensure access services view of reimbursement support strategy is represented. A key member of the Access Services team, the Director of Access 360 Operations will report directly to the Access Services Senior Director and interact and collaborate effectively with senior commercial leadership.  You will lead a team of approximately 60 resources made up of, patient access managers, training managers, quality analysts, workforce staff, and patient access associates within the AZ Access 360 contact center and at vendor partners focused on patient and provider reimbursement service delivery across multiple channels.  You will be responsible for ensuring contact center staff adhere to AstraZeneca legal and compliance policies to minimize AstraZeneca risks relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Anti-Kickback Statute, and Food and Drug Cosmetic Act, Product Liability, and State Prescription Laws.  The Director Operations is also responsible for $5-million-dollar budget, accurate and timely headcount, fee, and expense forecasts, regular financial reporting to senior leadership, and driving efficiencies to maximize resource needs.  You will be accountable for hiring decisions, effectively assessing and coaching managers and responsible for reimbursement program strategy, design, and execution.  You will interact with management and internal customers to provide knowledgeable input with regard to the factors that need to be considered as market and product strategies are developed.  You will share best practices across therapeutic areas and brands identifying common areas of improvement and must have the ability to translate between brand, MAPS, and access services priorities.  You will be accountable for Access Services training including the new hire training program, product training, business training, legal and compliance training, and customer service training.  The Director Operations must effectively integrate business process and technology offerings with key external partners ensuring seamless support through the patient journey and act as single point of accountability for brand program Key Performance Metrics (KPI), Service Level Agreements (SLA), and superior customer experience.  You will develop and implement efficient operating model with streamlined business processes, work instructions, and technology efficiencies  

Requirements

   Essential Requirements  

   Education and Experience  

 
       
  •      Bachelor’s Degree (MBA or other related graduate-level degree is preferred)    
  •    
  •      Minimum of 10 years of total business experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical/biotech industry.    
  •    
  •      Minimum 8 years' experience in Biologics or Pharmaceutical Specialty Products preferably in Infectious Disease, Respiratory, Inflammation, Autoimmune, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neuroscience.    
  •    
  •      Minimum 7 years’ experience in reimbursement contact center environment, medical affairs, clinical, compliance, and regulatory.    
  •    
  •      Successful track record of performance in roles focused on reducing barriers to access through customer oriented logistical support programs, training and quality of those programs, project management.    
  •    
  •      Proven success working on large strategic initiatives.    
  •    
  •      Demonstrated success in creating and leading a department.    
  •    
  •      Excellent Interpersonal skills, strong leadership, verbal and written communication skills.    
  •    
  •      Strong strategic thinker and business acumen.    
  •    
  •      Proven project management skills.
