Job Description

LLOYD, Inc., a well established manufacturer and marketer of animal and human pharmaceuticals is seeking an exceptional “hands on” candidate to fill the position of Director of Quality Control. The company, which is located in a small town in southwest Iowa, is family owned and employs approximately 85 employees. Operations are currently FDA cGMP certified for both animal and human pharmaceutical products.


The ideal applicant will possess at least a Baccalaureate Degree in Chemical Science with preference for an MS in chemical, physical, or biological science or a PhD in Analytical Chemistry.  They should also possess recent experience with FDA’s cGMP and GLP regulations and other relevant regulatory agencies and have recent experience in a pharmaceutical lab environment.

The successful applicant will provide hands on leadership, support, and problem solving skills to deliver scientific excellence and drive a continuous, improvement philosophy focused on improved compliance, and process efficiency. This person will also direct the activities and maintenance of the analytical laboratory so that existing products and facilities meet regulatory requirements and company objectives and new products are expeditiously introduced to the market. The applicant also must be goal-oriented, highly organized and be an effective and stimulative team builder. The applicant must be able to inspire, develop, and manage progressive work groups through consensus and  be able to work with other senior scientists, consultants and management personnel with oversight from the COO.

Remuneration is negotiable and based on qualifications and experience.
