The Director of Communications is responsible for providing senior-level communications counsel, the development and execution of communications initiatives as well as strategies and messages in alignment with business priorities to enhance Pfizer's profile and reputation and project management support that helps deliver the portfolio and improves R&D & site productivity.
*Proactively identify and implement opportunities to enhance Pfizer's profile and reputation, to advance strategy, and to reinforce Pfizer's commitment to the community
*Develop communications, communication plans that support strategy and include measurable objectives and results.
*In conjunction with Media Relations, prepares Q&A, statements and other written material for use with media, as needed.
*Develop creative, effective internal communications and content to keep colleagues fully informed about and engaged in R&D and site activities.
*Serve as editor for PTx monthly and CT weekly newsletters, as well as identify opportunities for promotion and write articles as needed.
*Prepare executive-level briefings to support key internal and external communications activities.
*Manage and oversee key site and line activities as needed, including plan and define agendas, coordinate event/activity, and preparation of presentation materials.
*Manage site public affairs initiatives, including PAC and grassroots activities in partnership with Corporate Affairs colleagues.
Education & Experience:
*Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree preferred.
*10+ years of experience and demonstrated skills in developing, managing and delivering communications strategies and plans in a large, complex organization.
Technical Skills Requirements:
*Well organized, creative, independent, self-motivated individual with exceptional presentation, written, and oral communication skills.
*Experienced in communicating and interacting with senior executive stakeholders.
*Ability to interpret the science and business, and creatively summarize to craft presentations and communications suitable for scientific and non-scientific audiences.
*Strong project management skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; the ability to respond to tight timelines; as well as, the capability to interact with all levels of the organization in a professional and discrete manner.
*Possess high energy, sense of urgency, creativity, decisiveness, ability to work well under pressure
*Must be a strategic thinker; strong analytical and business skills.
*Ability to navigate global organization and create alignment & network of colleagues across levels
