Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Director- Global Pricing to joing our team in Cambridge, MA.

This position is responsible for establishing the global pricing policy for each Vertex asset and developing global pricing estimates and reimbursement assumptions for each product at the key stages of clinical development.  The Director of Global Pricing will meet these objectives by working in close collaboration with global marketing, health economics/health outcomes, Government Affairs, clinical development, regional commercial colleagues and senior corporate leaders. 

Key Responsibilities:

*         - Develop the global pricing policy, inclusive of all key markets, in preparation for new product launches.

*         - Ensure that country pricing and contracting strategies are aligned with global policy.

*         - Evaluate opportunities for innovative reimbursement agreements/risk sharing agreements; establish global policies for such arrangements ahead of product launch.

*         - Establish estimates of the global pricing potential and reimbursement strategy for all Vertex pipeline assets at each phase of clinical development. 

*         - Assess pricing and access potential of pre-clinical Vertex assets and business development opportunities.

*         - Translate pricing options and reimbursement scenarios into model inputs for detailed analyses to support senior management decision-making.

*         - Define the global reimbursement plan including key value messages and supporting evidence.

*         - Leverage market research initiatives designed to inform and influence global pricing strategy.

*         - Conduct advisory meetings with global payers and health technology assessment (HTA) organizations to understand product perceptions, lead discussions of study plans, and foster collaborative relationships.

*         - Make specific recommendations to clinical trial designs

*         - Guide health economics and health outcomes colleagues on the design of the most relevant patient-reported outcomes, observational studies and economic models to support the market access strategy.
Minimum Qualifications :

- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 6 years of pricing/market access experience.   Significant global/international market access experience is required.
- A Bachelors and/or advanced degree in one of the following: medicine, mathematics, public health, epidemiology/biostatistics, economics, engineering, pharmacy, nursing, or business administration or other, related scientific/analytic field.

Preferred Qualifications: 

- Significant experience in creating global revenue forecast models of pharmaceuticals.
- Significant experience leading global market research projects focused on pricing and access-related issues.
- Ability to integrate insights and perspectives from internal access functions, third-party research, and direct interactions with payers in order to develop the global pricing strategy.
- Maintain a detailed familiarity with the changing payer landscape to enable well-informed projections of future reimbursement scenarios for pipeline products.   Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of pricing analogs, reimbursement conditions, and HTAs.
- Demonstrated experience in developing global pricing policies through a multi-functional, collaborative process involving numerous stakeholders and several levels of organizational structure, including the highest level of corporate leadership.
- Ability to critically assess and make specific recommendations on the design of clinical trials, observational studies, and pharmacoeconomic models.   Direct experience in health economics and/or outcomes research is preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrated experience in developing pricing scenarios under constrained timelines and with limited market research findings

- Produce high quality, accurate work under time constraints
- Experienced in presentation to an executive-level audience
- Adept use of MS office, especially Excel and PowerPoint Programs
- Results oriented, excellent analytical skills, ability to prepare complex analysis and interpret business analysis
