Description

Aragen Bioscience, Inc. is a contract research organization that provides a diversity of service offerings including molecular and cellular biology, stable cell line development, protein purification and process development as well as customized immunology and in vivo services. We are seeking an experienced, innovative, independent and motivated professional with significant and broad experience in combinations of the following areas.

• Stable and transient expression of proteins and antibodies
• Development of stable recombinant cell lines
• Upstream process development and production of proteins and monoclonal antibodies in bench-scale bioreactors
• A knowledge of scale-up and scale-down parameters and issues
• Performance of assays used to characterize expressed proteins and antibodies
• Troubleshooting protein expression, cell culture and assay related problems

He/She will mentor and lead a team of scientists engaged in cell line generation and upstream process development and be responsible for the successful delivery of project goals.  He/She will play a key role in the day-to-day, hands-on performance of laboratory work, serve as a scientific resource to other company scientists and provide technical support to sales and business development.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have (i) a Ph.D. degree plus at least ten years of industry experience in stable cell line generation and upstream process development, (ii) an understanding of the GMP environment and (iii) excellent oral and written communication skills.  He/She must be able to work independently in the laboratory and have excellent team and management skills.
