Director of Program Management will be accountable for an external partnership to deliver a new infusion system to Baxter’s global footprint. The project is a multiphase medical device development.The role will be responsible for the program definition, leadership and communication across a multidisciplinary team of project managers, electromechanical and software teams both in the US and with development teams throughout the world. S/he is responsible for establishing, monitoring and actively managing the project/multiphase budgets including all capital, direct and indirect expenses. S/he is responsible for driving cross functional integration and collaboration in support. S/he will drive program management methodology onthe project. S/he will be accountable for enabling multiple project teams both internal to Baxter and with the external partner to be successful by ensuring detailed planning & budgeting, team operating mechanisms are established, execution activities are driven and monitored and effective communications between teams and all functional/business stakeholders are occurring. S/he will be responsible for the coaching anddevelopment direct reports and mentoring of other technical staff.S/he ensures development of project management capabilities across the organization.

Accountable for team performance, program schedule and execution, budget commitments and spend across the multiphase development project. Leads team in defining program strategies, developing goals, and ensure program scope is defined and controlled. Key contact with external partner, executes Baxter contractual requirements and ensure partner commitments are upheld. Continuously interacts with all functions and levels of management ensuring effective ongoing communications across teams and stakeholders.S/he participates on the leadership team to integrate the R&D point of view/needs into the business strategies and activities. S/he ensures identification and communication of project risks, development of risk plan and response strategies. Anticipates potential conflict situations and identifies proactive solutions and manages conflict situations to result in win-win outcomes.

Requirements

1) Minimum - Bachelors degree or equivalent in appropriate discipline 2) Desired - Masters degree or equivalent in related discipline 3) Minimum - 15 yrs. of product life cycle or product development experience in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical or medical products company (10 years with Master, 7 years with Ph.D.) and 7+ years project management experience with increasing complexity, including experience managing multi-geographic division or enterprise-wide projects 4) Desired - PMI, IPMA or equivalent Certification
