Description

The Development Scientist will support pharmaceutical development programs at CUSTOpharm. He/She will have knowledge of preformulation, formulation development, and analytical techniques commonly used to characterize pharmaceutical substances and products. Under supervision of Director of Product Development, he/she will draft study protocols, plan and execute experiments, and generate/report study data. In addition he/she will support preparation of SOPs and specifications, troubleshooting, and transfer of process/method to CROs.
Essential Functions
• Perform preformulation evaluation on drug substances
• Design, execute, and interpret experiments for formulation and process development
• Prepare formulations for analytical method development and stability evaluation
• Develop analytical methods for in-process samples and drug products
• Draft protocols, and conduct experiments for compatibility evaluation and for stability study of drug dosages
• Collect and analyze data, and report results to supervisor in a timely manner
• Maintain and work to the company’s SOPs
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized workplace
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications and/or Work Experience
• 3-5 year working experience in drug development in pharmaceutical industry
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline
• Hands-on experience in drug dosage design and preparation (particularly in parenteral dosages) is essential
• Experience in UV-Vis and HPLC method development is required
• Attention to details and strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to manage priorities and maintain timelines for multiple projects in a fast pace environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
