Description

Responsible for performing Mechanical Design Engineering activities in a medical device company located in Laguna Hills, CA. Specific tasks include but are not limited to:  
• As part of the Product Development group, work with the R&D group in order to identify the functional specifications for a medical device
• Translate finalized functional specifications into a design that will meet IEC 60601-1 standards
• Develop and maintain design control documentation, test procedures and test protocols
• Perform testing and data analysis for design improvements and verification testing
• Perform trouble-shooting and debug of hardware systems and test fixtures
• Provide written reports, protocols, and engineering documentation for testing of component parts and integrated systems
• Provide support for ongoing clinical trials

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering or an equally relevant field
• Prior working/design experience with medical device design involving fluid systems
• Design experience from initial concept to production release and sustaining activities
• At least 5 years of experience designing and developing medical equipment
• Proficient in SolidWorks
• Demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems
• High level of time management and multi-tasking skills
• A strong dedication to precision and quality
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

The following skills are preferred:
• Familiarity with the IEC 60601-1 standard
• Familiarity with ISO 14971 risk management compliant processes

The individual must have a high level of energy, work ethic, and initiative. The candidate should also be creative and enjoy working with a small multi-disciplinary team.
