Description

REVA Medical, Inc. (REVA), headquartered in San Diego and founded in 1998, is dedicated to developing minimally invasive medical devices that leverage the Company’s proprietary biomaterial and stent technologies to improve the treatment of disease.  REVA’s initial focus is the development of a drug-eluting bioresorbable coronary scaffold to advance the treatment of cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death worldwide.

REVA is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting, and creative problem-solving Design Development Engineer to play a key role in the design and testing of bioresorbable stent products.

This individual will be involved in all aspects of the product design cycle from initial concepts and prototyping to implementation and verification.
•   perform CAD design and analysis of components and assemblies
•   produce documentation to support design directions  
•   write test plans
•   perform product testing to verify performance
•   establish specification limits
•   generate new test methods, fixtures, and equipment.

The Design Development Engineer will interact with manufacturing and process development engineers to ensure manufacturability of new designs and with material scientists in the development of new directions for product designs.

Requirements

Candidates will possess a BS/MS degree in mechanical engineering and 5+ years of experience in Development Engineering.  Experience designing products at the microscopic level with an emphasis on high precision components and polymer processing is required.  Ability to work hands-on with prototypes, test equipment, hand tools, and microscopes required.  Broad exposure to catheter based interventional products, tooling fabrication, and test development with medical products is required.  

Candidates must be available to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
