Description

We are searching for a database architect who will be responsible for analyzing data requirements, developing data models and database designs. Translates logical data models into physical data models. This position understands and applies the concepts of data modeling/database design and are able to communicate well with information systems (IS) personnel. A small, but important, portion of this role will be to perform DBA activities.

•   Works with application development team to develop/maintain system architecture roadmap
•   Identifies problems at the data modeling/design level; participates in and facilitates data requirement's gathering and analysis, identifies and recommends solutions to problems.
•   Analyzes the impact of database designs as they related to the conceptual data model.
•   Write, verify and execute Installation qualifications for validated environments.
•   Develops data warehousing blueprints, evaluates hardware and software platforms, and integrates systems to ensure that integration is effective and meets client specifications.
•   Assists in the identification and resolution of inefficiencies in database designs, determines and implements solutions for database design problems, and assists in the development of internal database projects.
•   Maintains and enforces data architecture/administration standards, maintains standardization of column name abbreviations, domains, and attributes, and assists in the evaluation of tools for the support of data modeling and database design.
•   Evaluates new tools for the support of metadata repositories.
•   Validates database designs for accuracy and performance issues.
•   Reverse engineering and troubleshooting complex legacy application architecture from documentation and requirements baseline, if / when available.
•   This role will demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills, the ability to interface equally well with various levels of technical personnel, web portal users, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and senior level stakeholders as required.
•   Willingness to undertake the DBA operational tasks, including security, back–up and recovery specifications, guidance, recommendations and training while maintaining the integrity of the solution.
•   Maintains current data models and develops database designs.
•   Mentors associates on the role and responsibilities of the data architect position.

Requirements

•   Experience with 21 CFR Part 11, validation of various systems including test script review and approval process
•   Experience with Oracle 11G
•   Experience with other databases a plus ( Essbase, sql server )
•   Strong skills in data administration, design and architecture
•   Experience working with industry standards, regulations and guidelines in database warehousing and other relevant systems
•   Minimum of 5 years experience developing with PL/SQL
•   Minimum of 5 years experience using Data Modeling Tools
•   Minimum of 5 years of experience with database maintenance
•   Experience with performance tuning
•   Experience with hosted environments
