Job Description

As a Data Scientist, you will evaluate and improve Amgen's products, collaborating as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers on a wide range of problems. The position will bring analytical rigor and statistical methods to the challenges of drug substance manufacturing, improving process performance, and understanding root causes for variation. The successful candidate will lead implementation of analytical solutions that enable enterprise-wide information knowledge management.

Expected travel will be mostly domestic (minimal international) 10% of the time.

*Work with large, complex data sets. Solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed. Conduct end-to end analysis that includes data gathering and requirements specifications, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables, and presentations

*Build and prototype analysis tools to provide insights. Develop comprehensive understanding of Amgen data structures and metrics, advocating for changes where needed for process improvements

*Interact cross-functionally with a wide variety of people and teams. Work closely with engineers to identify opportunities for process design improvements for Amgen products

*Make business recommendations (cost-benefit, forecasting, scenario analysis) with effective presentation of findings to multiple level of stakeholders through visual display of quantitative information

*Partner to develop and implement analysis, forecasting, and optimization methods to improve the quality of Amgen's processes.
