Description

Summer internship position in Corporate Strategy within Depomed’s Corporate Development group. Candidate will report to the Associate Director, Corporate Strategy & New Products and have frequent interactions with the VP, Corporate Development. Intern is expected to be an active contributor to the department and participate in the company’s Strategic Planning and Acquisition efforts.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
•Developing current and future competitive landscapes in specific therapeutic areas of interest. This would entail developing a perspective on growth opportunities and challenges, dynamic events related to specific disease areas, and unmet needs.
oProject involves leveraging secondary research and data analytics to develop hypotheses about areas of opportunity. SWOT analyses will describe the therapeutic areas overall and propose what our largest advantages and challenges would be
oThese ideas will be pressure-tested through data analytics, as well as conversations with subject matter experts throughout the organization, e.g. Commercial, R&D, and Managed Care
•Depending on timing of deal flow, Corporate Strategy Intern would support Depomed’s evaluation and diligence of specific acquisition opportunities, including analyzing data and developing insights, and sharing these with the broader cross-functional acquisition team

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•Required: Bachelor’s degree in biosciences and/or economics/business
•Highly desired: Pursuing an advanced degree in a life science and/or MBA at a top-tier school
•Previous work experience in biopharma is a plus
